Although I think your story about the name of Cabbage Hill is truckers lore. Our history shows it was named that as the residence that lived up there in the area known as Poverty Flats grew lots of cabbage and brought them down the hill to town to sell. The locals therefore applied the name Cabbage Hill.

Comment on I took a nap at Dead Mans Pass

great story uncle.... keep em comin, lots more

Comment on I took a nap at Dead Mans Pass

I've been missing you Ken. Great story. 126 mph, huh? I hit that once on a highway. But I was in a car. And don't tell my parents because it was their car. How much was that ticket?

Comment on Hook line and sinker

I think about you and your wife often. I have written articles that are on ezine articles regarding addictions and if I have learned nothing more in my adult life, it is that addictions are not something we strive for to destroy ourselves or others. It is easy to judge anyone when you don't have to live in their lives. In this life we live the plan, and obviously we're not always able to live the plan we now wish for. Often times we find the best thing we can do is to `give up.' Give up the idea that we can change everything we want to, give up the stigma that we are this or that, give up on what others think of us. Live your life, do the best YOU can, talk nice about others, love other peoples children, and when you're grouchy take a nap.

Love the blog, I hope you continue to write often.

Comment on Hook line and sinker

yeah, me too...........
Love you

Comment on Hook line and sinker

It's so scary out there. There's a lot you have to worry about as a parent that no one told you about before you had kids. I know of a few people who've become addicted to prescribed medicines and I'm sure there's a few in my circle I don't know about. Luckily for me, I get sick on almost every pain killer out there, so I just throw the prescription away when the doctor hands it to me.

Good to see you're back to your long orations. Hopefully, Sharon hasn't lost the ability to keep up with the typing. :)

I probably could've done without the visual of your poop but what would a blog post from Ken be without something to cringe about. :)

Comment on With my eyes half open

hang in there uncle ken, everyone loves you........

Comment on With my eyes half open

Dear Ken;
You are an amazing man!!
How priviledge I feel to know you!!
Thank you for all you have shared!!
We don't expect you to be in a writers mood every day.
